To venue or not to venue!
Posted by Lynn Crow | Under Parties Monday Sep 1, 2008Having your party at home can be a fabulous option, especially if you have an appropriate entertaining area and a great feature such as a water view or lots of land.
If you don’t have sufficient undercover area, a marquee can cover your guests and create an atmosphere. To stop your night being held in the kitchen, hiring a caterer or enlisting the help of teenage servers of preprepared food is a must.
One of the big benefits to having your party at home is that there is no time limit, no-one is going to ask you and your guests to leave at midnight, just as your party is getting going. The down side of course, can also be the same point!!
Obviously your budget, time constaints, work level and the type of function you are having will also help you make your decision. If you do decide to hire a venue for your party here is a list of options to get you started,
- Restaurants, cafes and bars.
- Sports and leisure complexes. Your local surf club usually has a great view of the ocean!
- Spas (See our Pamper Party Invitation)
- Charter and cruise boats.
- Historic house and other buildings.
- Urban and National parks, beaches and backyards. Great for family celebrations where kids are involved.
- Local community halls.
Hope this helps
