DIY Invitation Tip - Post it to yourself!

Posted by Lynn Crow | Under Invitation Making Friday Nov 21, 2008

Making your own invitations? Here is a tip from the experts.

When you make your prototype, pop it in your chosen envelope and post it to yourself.  This way you can see how it stands up the the rigours of the postal system.  This is particularly important if you are using embellishments made of a breakable material.

We heard of one bride, who used a clay shell for her beach theme invitations.  Unfortunately, these disintegrated in the mail and most of the guests received sand in the bottom of their envelope.  It still fit with the theme, but was not the look she was after!

Hope this helps.

Happy invitation making!

Lynn
