Romantic Poems for your invitation wording.

Posted by Lynn Crow | Under Invitation Making, Invitation Wording Ideas, Wedding Invitation Wording Tuesday May 11, 2010

It is always lovely to include a romantic poem on your invitations to hightlight your love for one another.  Here are a couple that we use all the time, when we are making invitations for our customers.

’ Together we have walked hand in hand, heart to heart we have shared with each other, one heart, one dream, one love and with love on our side we should never part.’  If space is an issue with your invitation it also sounds lovely if you finish it after ‘one love’

or

‘This day I will marry my best friend, the one I laugh with, live for, and love.’

Hope this helps

Wedding Place Card Idea - Why not frame it?

Posted by Lynn Crow | Under Bomboniere ideas, Uncategorized, Wedding Favour Ideas, Wedding Saving Tips Thursday Mar 25, 2010

Dove Place Card Frame

Using a little frame for your place cards is a great way to kill two birds with one stone.  Not only does it give you a stylish place card but also a lovely wedding favour that your guests can take home and keep.  You can then send them a little photo from your wedding for them to put in their frame.

There are a range of styles to choose from to fit in with your wedding theme. It is easy to print your own paper place cards to go inside or get of course most reputable wedding stationary companies can do it for you.

 Hope this helps

Print your own place cards for only 22 cents each.

Posted by Lynn Crow | Under Budget and Money Saving Tips, Wedding Saving Tips Monday Feb 1, 2010

Artee Supplies has released their new perforated place cards sheets which we think are a great cost saving option for making your own place cards.  Each sheet has 6 scored place cards on each one which can be printed using a laser printer then separated.  The perforation is very fine making the edges look good and from 22 cents per card they are great value.

The range of colours is good and match most of the standard paper colours.  We have also tried to describe the colours in our product information to help you choose the right one for your wedding theme.

All the information on these sheets are on line, so if your printer can handle the job why not consider this product.

Hope the helps

Invitation Tip - A Dress Code with a Difference

Posted by Lynn Crow | Under Invitation Making, Invitation Wording Ideas, Wedding Invitation Wording, Weddings Monday Dec 7, 2009

Dress codes can be tricky as there are many different interpretations of what they mean.  Many of our wedding invitations have the dress code “Semi Formal” which is usually taken to mean, that the women wear a lovely dress or skirt, not full length, and the men wear a suit and tie.

Many people do not know this however. To combat this confusion we have been doing a lot of invitations lately that have a more funky dress code option, which we think spells out the dress requirements more clearly and sounds great.

We have used the following and all our brides have loved it.  How about,

SHARP SUITS AND FABULOUS FROCKS or SNAPPY SUITS AND DREAMY DRESSES

Just a thought.

Hope this helps

Wishing Well Verse

Posted by Lynn Crow | Under Invitation Making, Invitation Wording Ideas, Invitations Tuesday Oct 20, 2009

If you are having a wishing well at your wedding, many brides include a wishing well card with their invitation, to let their guests know that they can give a gift of money.  Something Fabulous has  pre printed wishing well cards available on line with a lovely verse that can be easily slotted in with your invitations. Follow this link  http://www.somethingfabulous.com.au/categories.asp?cID=71

We have also found a verse that you might like to use if you want to let your guests know that if they prefer to purchase a gift it is fine as well.

If you were thinking of giving a gift to help us on our way
A gift of cash towards our new life would really make our day
However, if you prefer to purchase a gift
feel free to surprise us in your own way

Hope this helps

Whether it be on your thank you cards or wedding favor labels it is sometimes hard to come up with a little sentence that thanks your guests for their attendance at your wedding.  Here are some ideas

“We love that you have been a part of our special day. Thank you.”

“Thank you for sharing our wedding day with us.”

“You have made our wedding day special by being here to share in our joy, Thank you”

“Thank you for helping us create wonderful memories of our wedding day”

“Thank you for being a part of our wedding celebration”

“Thank you for being a part of the fun, laughter and celebration of our wedding day”

Hope this helps

Wedding Budget Tip- Timing is Everything.

Posted by Lynn Crow | Under Budget and Money Saving Tips, Wedding Saving Tips, Weddings Thursday Aug 20, 2009

Ok, this is a real secret coming from the inner sanctum of the wedding industry…..my husband owns an event hire company specialising in weddings, and I can tell you that in winter it is a real struggle to keep the sales coming in.  He will do almost anything to get a sale for the winter months and even in September (think spring wedding!). This is the time to book your wedding.

I have seen him discount up to 50% off the normal price of not only marquees, but also other items such as table, chairs etc .  But only at this time of year and just coming into spring, oh and Ok January is also pretty quiet as well, but that did so not come from me!

You may be thinking weather, but if you live on the east coast of Oz and look out the window on any of our lovely clear sunny winter days you will notice that there is very little rain at this time of year.  Also your makeup will definately not run, and your men will not swelter in their suits.

I also know for a fact that the same cashflow problems are happening for restaurants, decorators, florists and caterers.  I know this because after over 10 years in this business these are the people we speak to all the time, and we refer to this time of year as “baked beans season”, because this is what we are all eating.

Remember that no matter where you live the above information will be the case.

Serious about saving money, have a winter or early spring wedding.  It’s as simple as that, you will save thousands!

Hope this helps
